Are you a victim of religious trauma?

When I was a young girl, my parents joined an independent, fundamental Baptist church.  My life changed and centered around words like obey, submit, and repent. The pastor preached that he was placed behind the pulpit by God and to question him was to question God which was an act followed by swift church discipline.

A mastermind of manipulation, the pastor cleverly camouflaged his hidden agenda and presented it as God’s vision for the church.  As the rules and regulations intensified over the years, I became aware that living under an authoritative church leader was not God's plan for my life.

As a young adult, I was able to quietly leave the church. For the sin of leaving the congregation without the pastor's permission, I was cast out of the fellowship and folks I knew for many years never spoke to me again.

While this left painful wounds, I continued to pursue my journey of healing and finding out who the real Jesus was.

If you or someone you know is a hurting Christian, former member of an abusive church, or religious traumatic experience, come explore with me what it means to find your own true Jesus and freedom from controlling religious organizations.
